Later in the afternoon we left for our shore excursion to an old plantation manor tour and a luau.
We were greated with the finest of....apple cider :)
This old manor has since been made into a museum of sorts with a restaurant and gift shops - (every place has a gift shop!)
The Manor
Friday morning we knew the cruise was quickly coming to a close and so in order to try and make it last longer we spent all of Friday laying on deck enjoying the sunshine, then trying to hide from it because we were getting fried, then finding a nice spot by the pool to continue our relaxation, reading, sleeping, eating and people watching.
Friday afternoon as we left Kauai - the tug boat pushing us away from the port
Good bye Hawaii - thanks for the adventure!!

to the Punch bowl cemetery, the flea market, (we didn't spend nearly enough time here - only about 45 minutes because some of our group didn't want to stop at all - I could have stayed there all day!) the shopping mall (where we stayed way too long because of those same people) which was incredibly expensive with stores the likes of Sax. It was fun to see what the rich and famous spend their money on anyway!
Saturday morning we disembarked at about 8:30 am. I was so sad to be leaving. What a grand vacation this was. Okay so we had until 11:10 pm before our plane left Honolulu so with our group we boarded a bus and did a little sight seeing around Oahu. We went to Pearl Harbor,
Then by 5:00 pm our bus driver I guess had had enough of us because he took us to the airport and just left us there! Yep 6 hours ahead of our flight. So we just sat and people watched and read our books and took a bit of a nap and visited with our new found friends. And waited and waited and waited.
Is he that happy to be going home???
Chris Johnson, the co-leader of our pack
We flew all night (sleeping on an airplane is not my idea of a good night sleep. Just when I would get comfortable and asleep Lynn would change positions and wake me up but I think I did get more sleep than he got). We arrived in LA at about 6:30 am and left there about 7:15 am arriving back in SLC at about 10:00 am. After a brief stop at my mom and dad's we drove to Blackfoot and dropped mom and dad off then went to Idaho Falls where all our kids were together so we would only have to make one stop to see all of them. That was one of the highlights of the trip. Being together at the end of it with all our kiddo's!
What a wonderful vacation we had.
I'm so grateful for our adventure, that Mom and Dad went with us, and for having Lynn all to myself for 10 days. That hasn't happened in a very long time. And there you have it....

What a fabulous trip. It looks like you lived in the moment and enjoyed every second. I needed to see a glimps of the glorious sunshine in your pics today. It seems like it hasn't shown here in months.
