So I know this is long in coming but as soon as we got home I was trying to get back into Seminary and I have a craft show to do this weekend. I'm not doing very well on finding the time to get more bags finished so hopefully what I have will be good.
I can't believe that we have been home almost a week now. We had a wonderful time. I was really nervous about the cruise part because I don't like water, especially deep water and I have a tendency towards motion sickness so I was really worried about that but once I got on the ship and got my seasick patch on, I was sold on the idea of cruising. This ship was unbelievable - came complete with everything needed for a relaxing week.
We left on Wednesday night - the 29th and drove to Blackfoot to spend the night. We left early on Thursday morning stopping in Kaysville to see my parents before heading to the airport. Our flight left a little before 3:00 pm.

Finally on the plane...
We had a stop over in LA and then arrived in Honolulu about 8:30 pm local time which was 12:30 am Montana time - so we had some major jet lag.
We got to our motel on the North Shore of Oahu about 10:00 pm and surprisingly enough we were able to go to sleep and slept pretty good. On Friday morning we had a temple session scheduled in the Laie temple for 9:00 am.

What a wonderful experience to be there and experience the laid back, non hurry feel of the Polynesian people. I was grateful for the opportunity to go to that temple. It is closing soon for about 18 months for some major renovations. The day was beautiful, warm, sunny and so inviting for us weary travelers.
After the temple we went to the motel and changed and then to the Polynesian Cultural Center for the day. The day ended with a very fun Luau at the PCC and visiting with a great couple from Texas who sat with us at dinner. They were in Hawaii celebrating their 11th anniversary, Lynn and I were celebrating our 27th and Lynn's parents their 57th!

We slept in a little on Saturday morning. We didn't have to leave the motel until 11:00 am to head to the ship so we just enjoyed the morning. We walked across the street from the motel and onto the beach! It just doesn't get much better than that! The ocean was incredible and I loved walking the beach and letting the sand get in my toes and the warm ocean water and the waves wash up my legs. There is just something about the ocean that makes me think about my relationship with my Heavenly Father and stand in awe at the creation and the wonder of it all.
What a perfect way to begin our vacation...a trip to the temple and walking along the ocean in such a beautiful place with such wonderful people. I was reminded why I love Hawaii so much. The pace is so slow and laid back and so quiet and peaceful. That is just what we needed to start our vacation! Stay tuned for more...
