This is late in coming but I don't think Clayton will mind. Especially since he doesn't even know what a blog is yet. Our little man Clayton David, our 2nd grandson, turned 2 on the November 30th. So this is a HAPPY HAPPY BIRTHDAY post to him (sorry it's so late guys).
Clayton's 1st Birthday
Clayton is such a little man. Boy is he smart. David (our son) will call me all the time with new things that Clay has learned. I'm amazed constantly at how Clay can look at something or watch someone do something and he has it! Plain and simple - he has it down. Nothing escapes him. I think that is why he isn't talking yet - because he is so dang smart. Watch out world when he starts talking because he will let us all know about it - whatever "it" is. I love to watch Clay and see the little wheels spinning around in his head and wonder what he is thinking about. He loves to be outside just like his daddy used to when he was little. He is independent, loves books, is a good sleeper and loves tractors, just like his daddy used to.
One of the greatest parts of being a grandma is watching my children with their own children. I love to see them as they teach their little ones how to pray and how to play with the tractors and read the books. I love how Clay keeps his parents on their toes - he knows if they forget to say prayers or forget to read the scriptures, and he reminds them! Clayton is already almost potty trained - which is SO UNLIKE his daddy! Good job little man!!!!!
Clay loves to color pictures for Papa and I. When he was at our house in November I had one of his pictures on my fridge. He recognized it as his and was so proud that it had a prominent spot in the kitchen. He played with it the whole time he was here, but wouldn't take it down - just rearranged the magnets on it. I love how he knows me even when we've been apart for so long. I love it when he runs to the door to greet me when he knows I'm coming.
In two short years he has made my world better and I am so thankful that he is another jewel in my crown! I love you Clayton! I can't wait to see you again!

My Mom always said that she wished she could have been a grandma before a Mom! She loved it just as much as you! Your grandkids are all so lucky to have a wonderful gram like you!
